  1. The 7th International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics to be held in Melbourne 10-14 November 2014 is now just over 1 month away!
If you haven’t already registered for this landmark event, be sure to do so as soon as possible.
It will be the Largest gathering of Geomembrane Companies ever in the Southern Hemisphere!
You can register online via the following link:

  3. Layfield Launches New Corporate Website
  4. Arrow plan for completion of Daandine Pond approximately 25km west of Dalby which will hold brine from the reverse osmosis plant
  5. AGL responds to CSG salty water fears:
Ponds elsewhere will be double lined with polyethylene, which AGL says is a high strength material resistant to salty water, and will only contain ‘produce water’ – the water emerging from the coal seams after the initial fracking solution has re-emerged.
Should a leak be detected, water can be drained to other ponds and the leak repaired with the appropriate ‘heat welded’ patches.
  6. Shamrock Civil completes QCLNG upstream Northern Water Treatment Plant ponds project near Wandoan in the Surat Basin
It is the largest project undertaken by the Brisbane-based civil engineering business at $78 M in value.
The pond consists of a very complex lining system with multiple liner layers, a clay layer and sump details to provide safe housing for the heated brine solution that is produced during the water purification process in the water treatment facility
  7. County Hopes to Top Landfill with Thin, Flexible Solar Cap
  8. Tensar takes legal action in Canada vs. Enviro-Pro Geosynthetics
  9. Structural and rheological property relationship of bimodal polyethylene with improved environment stress cracking resistance
  10. Waterproofing for underground tanks using rectangular 3D geomembrane
  11. Design considerations for GCLs in Leach Pad Liner Systems
  12. Concrete Embedment Liners from Layfield
  13. Geomembrane Papers Presented in Vancouver Geosynthetics Mining Solutions Conference 2014
  14. Geomembrane Experts in Heap Leaching
  15. Geomembranes in reservoir reinforcement engineering
