Rise of the Super Durable Geosynthetic Liners that Can Tolerate Installation Damage and Traffic by Construction Equipment

Cementious geocomposites (CGC), bituminous geomembranes (BGM) and Dense Asphaltic Concrete (DAC) are all recent additions to the geotechnical consultants arsenal that resist aggressive subgrades and point load damage.

Grande Prairie Landfill Alberta (Canada) Using Shredded Rubber for Drainage Layer Directly on BGM Liner
There was a 20% cost saving using Coletanche as compared with HDPE liner which required a heavy protection layer.  No protection layer was needed for Coletanche.

Advantages of Bituminous Geomembranes (BGM) Revealed
BGM have advantages in terms of withstanding wind effects, having no stringent base layer requirement,  being useable on rough subgrade, and decreasing construction times and the quantity of borrowed/imported subgrade materials required.
