INDUSTRY NEWS

Solmax Install Pit Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) in Tibet
Solmax have completed a notable landmark project for pit thermal energy storage (PTES) on the Tibetan Plateau.
They installed about 32,000 m² of HDPE geomembrane (GSE HDH, GSE HD, and light-grey GSE HD for UV resistance) in a high-altitude reservoir to store 700 MWh of solar heat

Consortium of Big 4 – Solmax, Huesker, NAUE and Freudenberg to Investigate Effect of High pH on Geosynthetic Reinforcements

  • Assess the impact of high pH on geosynthetic (PET) soil reinforcement under stress
  • Track how pH levels in mixed aggregate change over time
  • Develop standard test methods for these assessments
  • Provide recommendations for:
  • Designing new structures using PET and mixed aggregate
  • Evaluating existing structures with these materials

Nature-Driven Method with Geotextile Sand Containers Aims to Save Coasts
The Greek research team have developed a patented technique that mimics the fossilization process. Local sand, pebbles and shells are placed in geotextile forms on the seabed, where native bacteria bind the material by depositing carbonate salts, creating rocklike reefs in weeks
