New Study Finds Sawdust More Effective than Geotextiles in Preventing Snow Loss and with No Microplastic Issues
The study underscores the effectiveness of using a sufficient layer of sawdust as an insulating material for snow storage, demonstrating their good performance compared to alternatives like geotextiles. Snow volume losses ranged from 13.2 % to 22.7 % for sawdust-covered piles, compared to 30.2 % to 71.9 % for geo-textiles.

Modern Dispersions to Unveil New Black Masterbatch for Geomembranes at K 2025 in Germany
The company has launched a new black masterbatch grade called GM-540-7UVS. The new grade meets the industry’s GM13 standard for use in geomembranes.
It is a 40% carbon black polyolefin masterbatch containing a specific additive package which protects the geomembrane from long-term heat and UV exposure.
Italian Geomembrane Extruder Manufacturer BG PLAST IMPIANTI S.R.L. Showcases New Coextrusion System for Multilayer Liners
BG Plast lines for geomembranes allow the coextrusion of multiple layers, with the possibility of direct lamination with geotextiles and the use of different polyolefin formulations, such as HDPE, LDPE, and PP. The membranes can be made with a smooth or structured (nip) surface, depending on the final application. The heart of the system is a high-pressure calender with precision electromechanical control and independent temperature control systems, which guarantee uniform thickness even over large widths.
