Solmax Geomembrane Fire Under Criminal Investigation
At 2:19 a.m. January 21, a commercial fire at Solmax a geomembrane manufacturer just outside of Kingstree was reported. Over 100 large rolls of plastic were burning outside the main storage facility and there were several fires inside the storage facility.  The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
