BREAKING NEWS

Italian Antitrust Authority Announces it Will Not Proceed with Investigation into the Acquisition of Officine Maccaferri by Ambienta
(Teleborsa, 2nd April 2024) – The Italian Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) has decided not to start the investigation regarding the business deal in which Ambienta SGR will acquire a majority share of Officine Maccaferri, as it does not significantly impede the effective competition in the markets concerned and does not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position.  The AGCM observes that in none of the relevant markets in which the target group operates are there companies belonging to the portfolio managed by Ambienta, nor in the downstream or upstream markets. Furthermore, considering that the operation does not involve any overlap in market shares, nor effects of a vertical nature, the Authority believes that it is not raising competitive issues in the reference markets, as it does not lead to structural changes.

Comanco Helping HPDE Lined Crystal Lagoons to Cover the World
Demand for geosynthetics is surging, and a key driver is the rise of Crystal Lagoons, according to a recent article in Geosynthetic News Alerts (ExcelPlas). These lagoons utilize large panels of white, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liner seamlessly welded together to create beautiful and sustainable urban oases. COMANCO is proud to be a major contributor to this exciting trend. We’ve leveraged our expertise to install 12 Crystal Lagoons around the world, with 4 more currently under construction. Our projects span across various locations, including Florida, Texas, California, and even Colombia. As a key player in this innovative field, we look forward to seeing how Crystal Lagoons pave the way for the future of geosynthetics in recreational water features.

ASTM Publishes New Standard (ASTM D8212-24) for the Determination of the Radial Properties of Geogrids Under Low Radial Strain
“This practice presents a method for determining in-air index values of the radial load and radial stiffness at low strain in each symmetric direction of a balanced geogrid subjected to 360° radial strain. This determination is based on tensile test results from testing in accordance with Test Method D6637/D6637M and an analysis of the radial force balance in each symmetric direction across a circle of geogrid that is assumed to be strained uniformly in all radial directions to a low strain level.”
